Garan attended school in Creigiau and Radyr before going to University in Loughborough. He joined David W. Harris & Co. as an Article Clerk in 1996 and became a Partner in 2001.
Garan specialises in Claimant personal injury work and has recently settled a brain injury claim for £3.15 million. He also handles criminal litigation and has specific expertise in regulatory crime having prosecuted cases on behalf of the Health and Safety Executive.
Garan is a keen sportsman and continues to play league cricket for Miskin Manor.
