A man has obtained a six-figure sum in compensation after he sustained a serious foot injury in a road collision.
He initially believed that he had suffered a soft tissue injury in the accident, but was eventually diagnosed with a Lisfranc fracture. Despite the injury causing him ongoing pain, he continued to work full time.
After he commenced a claim for compensation, medical evidence was obtained showing that he was likely to require fusion surgery on his foot, which would leave him with long-term disability. There was a possibility that he would also require ankle fusion surgery. He was provided with orthotic aids to improve his mobility.
His claim was later settled for £250,000.
