Damages for Woman Hit by Motorbike on Pedestrian Crossing

A compensation settlement has been agreed in the case of a woman who was hit by a motorbike on a pedestrian crossing.

She suffered fractures to her rib and pelvis and soft tissue injuries. She was unable to leave her bedroom for four months after the accident, and needed physiotherapy and hydrotherapy in order to learn to walk again. She was highly dependent on her family for support, and experienced significant ongoing pain.

She commenced a claim against the rider of the motorbike, who admitted liability for the accident. Interim payments were quickly secured and a full rehabilitation package was put in place. After undergoing intensive rehabilitation for a year, she was able to move around independently again.

A six-figure settlement of her claim was reached. As well as compensating her for her pain and suffering, the settlement includes funds to pay for her continuing rehabilitation.
