Michelle Newton


Michelle is a Pontypridd girl who attended Hawthorn Comprehensive School. Having trained with the firm she qualified as a Solicitor in 1995 becoming a Partner in 2002.

She is Head of the Family Law Department, specialising exclusively in matrimonial work dealing with all aspects of Family Law to include dissolution of marriage/civil partnerships; financial matters; cohabitation disputes; domestic violence and all issues involving children.

Michelle is a member of the Law Society Children Panel enabling her to represent children as well as parents in Care Proceedings brought by the Local Authority. She is accredited as a specialist Family Lawyer with the Solicitors Family Law Association (Resolution) Panel.

She is a trained mediator and in addition is a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children. She is well known locally for her commitment and passion for Family Law with the majority of her work coming via personal recommendation from existing clients and other solicitors.

In her younger days, Michelle’s interest was in music playing guitar and singing in a group/choir. She then “progressed” to performing arts with a particular interest in Pantomines. Michelle regularly played the “Goodie” or “Baddie”!

She is married with 3 daughters and now devotes whatever spare time is available to her in trying to keep up with them.
